new handler wanted

Post  julie adams on Wed Oct 08, 2008 4:15 pm

I'm posting this on behalf of Sol my gorgeous merley. Apparently after my dire performance at the weekend when I got him eliminated at the end of a course with a time 2 seconds faster than the winning dog he has had enough and wants someone with half a clue. As you can see from the pics below he is very talented (upside down sofa agility), Handsome (well he is a merle) and cute. I have promised to try and do better this weekend but he isn't convinced so any tips greatly appreciated otherwise I may find myself sacked and the merley bum on his way into the big wide world looking for a better deal Surprised The only stipulation he has apart from wanting someone that knows what they are doing is that he still gets his meat and bones, own sofa or arm chair as required and own double bed although he doesn't mind you sharing as long as you don't take too much room. Apparently the room service here is the one good thing! Laughing

No he isn't that bad which unfortunately makes me look even worse...... Embarassed The harness was for Kel whos is in fact the naughtiest dog in the world, I don't help because I laugh at him but he can open all the doors, cupboards and the fridge and toilet roll is his favourite food apparently! I think it is a tri-colour thing..... But how can you not laugh at this:

He does something naughty and when you tell him off he "smiles" at you, I have never known a dog with such a cheeky sense of humour..... well apart from noggin when it comes to tunnels! Laughing lol!

he is really rather beatuiful but then again he is a TRI! Very Happy

Noggin has a genetic thruu thruu disorder which he has passed on to Noonoo and Binka plus other of his offspring but I dont think any of them have it quite as bad as our Noggin dog!

cat I can remember one run at Southsea in his 1st year of comp when in the pc Olympia qualifier he ran the whole length of the ring (which is quite a big ring) to do a tunnel in the corner...leaving me by a jump looking stupid Exclamation oh and it had to be whilest they were comentating and a big crowd was watching too pale Embarassed It was usually accompanied by a loud high pitched scream and a 90mph cheetah like acceleratation taking the tunnel out of its cradles! Thats was his party piece!

Bless him I do miss seeing him run !

xx

Genetic disorder? I like the sound of that, it's a good excuse for me when I am rubbish, I usually just say BLONDE! Laughing I only ever got to see noggin run once and that was when he tried to take stuarts legs off in his determination to get into a tunnel no matter what, it was very funny for those of us watching but means that I have no hope for kel as it's obvious that this naughty disease that tri-colours have doesn't get better with age and he is only 7 lol!

I think I redeemed myself slightly at the weekend as we managed a 3rd in grade 5 agility with a stop on all contacts and a slight dither in front of a tunnel when Sol thought he was doing weaves...... He doesn't have "thruu thruu" disease, it's more like "contacts poles" disease as he is obsessed with both and his dad was a tri so it's very strange that there is no naughtiness there Razz Either way combined with his fancy rosette (no trophy, BOO!) the extra biscuits and new toys he got for being so good it seems like he wants to live with me again so I have been reprieved........ until next time Twisted Evil

Hi Julie

What a handsome merle....Noggins genetic disorder I guess comes from his Mother Flo who has sadly passed to the great doggie heaven in the sky.

All I can suggest is be very consistent in what you do all dogs mature at different stages and with perseverance it will come right.

Have a 4 month old collie bitch, Alice, who seems to be growing in confidence all the time, lets get cocky seems to be her motto!!! Laughing I love you

Look forward to hearing how you are getting on

Julie what Dawn isnt telling you is that her new pup may well carry the lethal thru thru gene too as its simillar breeding! See dawn the horns are growing already!

and Dawn was responsible for noggin! She made me have him, rather than the cute little girlies cat Twisted Evil

Well we have just closed the door on the Noggin progeny line I guess ...as poor little Noonoo was speyed today Crying or Very sad poor little darling is in a sorry state!

Hi Dawn, I think Sol has been mature since I brought him home, always seemed like a little old man and cocky is definitely his thing...... Laughing Does it count if I am consistently c**p? lol! Deef the donkey on the other hand is 7 1/2 and just starting to mature and this year has been less likely to go and do his own course because he doubts my commands......

If your pup has the thru thru disease then you have my sympathy, well maybe only a little as you were responsible for it to begin with lol!

Awww Anne, poor noo, thankfully dogs recover quickly but they do make you feel bad though don't they? Deef is an expert at that one! I thought Binka was still entire? scratch

yes Binka is still entire, but not everyone understands the beauty of the bullnosed dog pig Twisted Evil hahah!

, so we wouldnt use him at stud anyhow....there could only be one Binka though,
he is a 'one off'!
xx
Noonoo is much better today but we have had to tape her feet up to stop her scratching her tum... you teach all this back end awareness to get your dogs' supple and balanced, and they end up becoming contortionists!
Laughing Laughing
She is enjoying all the attention I think....

Awww I like binka's squidgy face and he has that really funny jaunty walk and the permanent goofy grin, what's not to love? flower I've had about 6 requests to use Sol but none for the right reasons..... one got a bit huffy when I said no Rolling Eyes The problem is that I could make a list of people that I wouldn't want to have one of his pups that would be longer than a list of those I would want to have one and I wouldn't have any say on where they went so easier not to bother!

Oh dear, if Dawn's pup is related there is no hope and she should just give up now

lol! Where's she from? If you know her parents I can either look it up or because I am really sad and look at different lines a lot I will probably already know

There is no hope for me really is there? All I need now is a funny hat with the ear muffs on and a notebook and I can go "stobart" spotting on the motorway while I am at work...... Although I do feel compelled to point out that you had your anorak before me..... Razz
